LIVING
ART
Contemporary, impressionistic
paintings of Maine and her people
Welcome to LIVING Art,
a ministry dedicated to furthering the
understanding of the importance of the visual
arts for the glory of YHVH
and the good of mankind. The works featured on
this website are
those of ministry artist, Mary Louise;Town Jaqua.
Jaqua has painted professionally since 1973 in
the disciplines of oil,
watercolor, pastel, and mural art. Her career
began in display and
advertising art but gradually shifted to fine
art. After several years as
a successful muralist, Jaqua settled on oil
painting as her life's calling.
Jaqua's love for painting is evident in the
quality of her work and the facility
with which she commands her medium. The size and
subject matter of
many of her paintings are an indication that
Jaqua is an artist who is not
easily intimidated. Her mural commissions display
a rare sense of
diverse subject matter, design, and execution,
qualities that have
translated into her work as an oil painter
Though Jaqua is comfortable working
in many media, oil painting is her
first love, since it affords her the greatest
challenge, flexibility, and latitude
of expression. Her oil paintings reflect her
life, especially as it relates to
Maine, her home since 1984.
LIVING Art is a non-profit
ministy and not a commercial gallery. Therefore
artwork is available on a suggested donation
basis that typically reflects fair market value.
Inquiries are welcomed by contacting the artist. A limited
number of digital prints of Jaqua's paintings are
in stock. Contact the artist for availability.
